Shalom Hope is a Canadian-based nonprofit supporting education, emergency relief, and healthcare for communities in need — starting in Sri Lanka, with our hands open to wherever the need is greatest.
Our mission
We're a small, volunteer-led organization based in Canada, built by people with direct ties to the communities we serve. We started close to home — with family, neighbours, and the places we grew up — because that's where trust and accountability come first. As we grow, our approach travels with us wherever it's needed next.
Where we focus
School supplies, tuition support, and scholarships for children and young adults whose families can't cover the cost — because an interrupted education is one of the hardest things to recover from.
Food, clean water, and essential supplies delivered quickly when flooding, economic crisis, or other emergencies put families at risk — coordinated with people on the ground who know exactly who needs help first.
Basic medicine, checkups, and connections to clinics for families who'd otherwise go without — plus support for the small, ongoing health costs that add up faster than most people expect.
How we work
Run by volunteers based in Canada, with no paid overhead — every donation goes directly toward programs, not administration.
We work through trusted local contacts who know the communities directly, rather than sending aid through layers of distant intermediaries.
We're starting with the communities we know best. As Shalom Hope grows, the same model — direct, accountable, community-led — travels with us.
